RESUMO

This study is concerned with representations and practices related to child and teenager sexuality in Salvador, from 1940 to 1970. It is considered here that the concepts of childhood, adolescence and sexuality are built according to social and historical factors and that sexuality is associated with gender, race and class. Thus, the discourses on child and teenager sexuality are best understood against the backdrop of social relationships and the different spaces that the historical agents occupy in society. The meanings of childhood and adolescence, as well as the practices related to them are specific to different social strata, in the period, and change as time passes. We seek to investigate sexual violence against children and teenagers bodies through the study of crimes against customs and the laws which ruled their punishment. We also attempt to analyse the links between the concept of honour and the control of female sexuality.
