RESUMO

The rising of the Information Society and of a new economy reinforces the need of evaluating alternatives of information and knowledge management improvements, mostly in a regional micro credit agency with distinct peculiarities. Thus, a case study has been made in ANDE - Agência Nacional de Desenvolvimento Microempresarial (Micro companies development national agency) about the World Vision Brazil, through a qualitative research involving the Minas Gerais branch team as well as the National Management of the program, based in Recife - Pernambuco. The research includes routine observation and questionnaire answering, aiming at the identification of possibilities of improvement in information and knowledge management in this micro credit network, with the theoretical necessary support in the Information Sciences and Solidarity Economy. The results were analyzed in four major groups related to the objective of the research: Information management in the Minas Gerais branch; sharing information in this branch; efficiency of the operational management software installed and improvement perspectives; degree of existent knowledge management and the benefits brought to the process by the Solidarity Economy. The process of information and knowledge management in the institution, the variables that influence this management, alternatives of improvement and the sharing of the information among the involved actors have been identified. The results presented in this dissertation will certainly contribute not only to the subject of this paper, but also to other micro credit institutions in the State and in the Country, since the management models can be replicated and implemented in other realities, taking into account local peculiarities.
