RESUMO
Based on the presupposition that the Indigenous Health Agent needs to take into ac-count intercultural elements in his/her pedagogical practice and be guided by integral health contents when promoting and protecting health, this investigation was carried out in order to analyze the reflexive process in the professional qualification of an Indigenous Health Agent within an intercultural and integral approach. The investiga-tion was based on the following documents: auditing workshop report; two modules of the course; and the reports of the two modules. The study used the qualitative ap-proach, with a technical analysis in three phases: pre-analysis, analytical description, and inferential interpretation. Results enabled to observe a link between the modules of the course and their reports, and a distancing between the workshop reports, with the conception of the health-sickness process being predominantly biologicist and hygienist/ preventative, and educational practices that are vertical and individual, a work process that is fragmented, and a health attention model of the campaign type, with prescriptive qualification and interculturalrelations that predominantly favor ho-mogenization of the prevailing culture. Possible alternatives were pointed out consi-dering the results based on the conception of a qualification grounded on integral and intercultural elements. In the proposed synthesis some aspects to be contemplated were pointed out, such as: The conception of the health-sickness process based on the social determination; work‟s process based on a new concept of health promo-tion; schooling instructions which take into account interculturality and pedagogical practices that characterize an intercultural curriculum
