RESUMO

Aqueous two-phase system explores the possibility of solutions of two polymers or one polymer and one salt separating into two immiscible aqueous phases, when certain critical concentrations are exceeded. This work was characterised by the KA W ASE recovery index analysis of the bromelain of pineapple juice, using a pulsed column for three sizes of tie lines, three different pH s and three feeding flows. The characterisation of a new aqueous two-phase system is based on a regional polymer, the polysaccharide of cashew nut tree (Policaju). Since the cost of the phase forming polymers is the main drawback on the large scale application of aqueous two-phase partition, this system showed the possibility of decreasing this cost by increasing the applicability of biphasic partition as an alternative technique to the traditional recovery processes of bio products. The results showed an increase of the recovery index with an increase of the rotation speed and with an increase of the system composition. The profile analysis of continuous extraction of the bromelain of pineapple juice demonstrated that the largest protein recovery was obtained for the following conditions: 13%PEG4000-22% Cashew nut tree system in pulsed column with 3 rotative disks at the speed of 60 rpm with total of feeding speed of 11,12 mL/min, and pH 8,0 which was 68,82%
