RESUMO

Due to current competitiveness growing of the automotive market and the revision of pollutant emission standards by regulatory authorities, the product development scenario for automotive industry and industrial operations planning at large scale companies have undergone numerous revisions subsequently affecting one way or another every link in the supply chain. Present work includes analysis of the different stages in product development at a diesel engine manufacturer, as well as development process of a new machining line in an existing facility. As part of this approach, proposed methodology includes tools to optimize time and costs, based on advanced engineering methods, life cycle studies and decision-making processes. By applying these methods, it was likely to conclude that the use of some or all of these techniques bring benefits concerning design time reduction, improved planning of all operations of an industrial plant through the use of operations synergy and mostly in obtaining financial gains from decision making with highest data subsidy. The proposed methodology is limited to show a solution, which, applied in developing a manufacturing project and using decision-making tools based on a theoretical integrated management model of business processes, contributes to provide for a long-term industrial operation planning to the team in charge of manufacturing strategy.
