RESUMO

This work presents a study on the resistance to corrosion ofthe orthopaedic Ti-6AI-7Nb alloy previously, hot annealled and isothermically hot forged, in Hank s solution. Potentiodinamic technique was used for determination of corrosion potential, passivation potential, current of corrosion in the active region and current of passivation. Data recorded on these experiments were used for to establisch a direct relationship between corrosion resistence of the alloy and the microestructure obtained for different conditions of hot forging such as temperature, deformation depth and rate of deformation.
