RESUMO

The absolute vertical flux of the electromagnetic component of cosmic ray radiation in Chacaltaya (Bolivia, 5220m over sea level) in the energy region between 3 and 100 TeV is estimated, from electromagnetic cascade showers detected by emulsion chambers. Particular account is taken of the influence of: i) probability of detection of electromagnetic cascade showers; ii) fluctuation in the energy measurements of electromagnetic cascade showers; iii) fluctuation in the determination of the zenith angle of electromagnetic cascade showers. The absolute vertical hadron flux in Chacaltaya is also estimated for energies, released into gamma rays in nuclear interactions, between 3 and 100 TeV. Based on the obtained vertical fluxes for the electromagnetic component and on very general assumptions of "similarity" of spectra, the production rates for gamma rays and pions at Chacaltaya and at the top of the atmosphere, the pion flux at Chacaltaya, the muon flux at Chacaltaya and at sea level as well as the muon neutrino flux at Chacaltaya are calculated. The hadron flux at the top of the atmosphere is estimated from the vertical hadron flux at Chacaltaya. The obtained values for the absolute vertical fluxes of electromagnetic and hadronic components at Chacaltaya as well as for muon flux at sea level and primary hadrons are compared with corresponding results of other groups at different atmospheric depths
