RESUMO
The analysis of settlement of the soil is basic to foresee the good behavior of the structures in relation to the visual conditions and of security in the constructions. Diverse methods of estimate of settlement of the soil had been developed to assist the professionals in the dimension of the foundations. The objective of this work was to estimate settlement them of four situated buildings of the Lavras city, being that the same ones had used pier foundation. They were calculated the settlement and the angular distortions of each one of the constructions. The results obtained for each building were analyzed individually and compared with the too buildings. The foundations presented different values of settlement, however, all inside of the acceptable limits, suggested by diverse authors.
