RESUMO

This research has as its object the publication LatinomÃrica (2001), of Marcus Accioly. We aimed at investigating the aesthetic and sociocultural elements which allow to identify the connection between Ânew epic poem and contemporaneity, through new interlocutors. The cultural interface â which establishes the logical relationships between Same and Other, Old and Modern â is started by the comparative method. From this perspective, aesthetics and politics are connected through the epic formation of speech, when mixing the historical and the mythical dimension through the Poet s subjective experience, codified by the literary dimension as the hero of the enunciation. This way, the poem appropriates the accumulation presente in epic forms as a catalyst of traditions, paradoxically, affirming/denying the literary memory and, specifically, building the artifices for the insertion of its event in the flow of that transmitted knowledge
