RESUMO

The currently discussion about the borderline can clearly be evidenced by the multiple works developed currently. Its concept loads a diversity of meanings that, identified in distinct historical realities, exceeds the simple idea of the politics landmark between countries, regions or cities. The border-line looked like a territory, express as a cultural space of meeting, where identities establish forming new territories and new territorialities. The border-line between urban and the rural, before defined for easily verifiable limits, today, in consequence of the expansion of the urban tissue and constant redefinition of the urban perimeters, becomes diffuse forming hybrid spaces that keep in such a way urban and rural characteristic. Hybrid spaces that each time more tend to shelter innumerable forms and functions that become these transition areas territories of great interest. In this direction, the proposal of this work is to present a discussion about the border-line between urban and the rural in the city of Juiz de Fora. Border-line formed from the constant advance of the urban perimeter results, where old practical of culture of the land and creation of animals coexist with activities said urban, redefining production processes and territory appropriation
