RESUMO
the objective of this work is to develop a fast and efficient algorithm to automatically enhance fingerprint images presented in gray levels. The algorithm takes into consideration the strong oriented patterns found at any point in a fingerprint image, and proposes a fast way to enhance the image in one step, thus being processed in small CPU usage and time of processing. The results obtained are analised from the point of view of fingerprint indentitification, i.e., by checking the occurrence of false minutiae, the details of a fingerprint used by experts to identify them
