Efeitos da poluição do ar relacionados com o crescimento da área urbanizada e do número de veículos automotores no Distrito Federal

RESUMO

With the extraordinary growth of the District Federal and surround, which had an irregular use and occupation of the ground in the last years, it had a considerable increase of the number of inhabitants and the necessity of magnifying of the road net, what consequently brought increase of the consumption of fuel and emission of gases in the atmosphere, increasing the amount of particles in the existing one, and bringing problems of public health, mainly in the period of the dry season. With base in these investigations, the present work aims at: - a survey of the evidences of alteration of the quality Federal District atmosphere; b. the study of the relation of these alterations with the amount of consumed fuel; c. the evaluation of the incidence of registers of medical occurrence in the public net of health, mainly cases of respiratory and allergic illnesses and mortality. Complementing the study, it was made a survey on the air pollution legislation in Brazil and Federal District, beyond the evaluation of process used in air monitoring through Brazil and other countries. Used methodology consisted of bibliographical survey, visits to the public institutions searching pertinent documents to the subject, as well as relative information to the public health, fuel consumption, increase and tarring of the road net, amongst others. The analyses and construction of graphs had been made using SPSS (Statistical Package For Social Sciences). The results had waved for an increment of the pollution of air in the Federal District, with consequences aggravations for the respiratory illnesses in the dry months (July the September), which are close related to the increase of the number of vehicles. The Federal District still does not present one politics accomplishes for the monitoring and combat to the atmospheric pollution, perhaps for not having reached critical states, as it happens in the city of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro and in great metropolises of other countries. Finally, some injunctions had been suggested, aiming at to minimize the current problems and to prevent the aggravation of the Federal District air pollution in the future.
