RESUMO

This study examines a selection of David Salles journalistic and academics texts, aiming the research of all his discussions about the writers Jorge Amado and Xavier Marques, emphasizing this critcs point of view, the essence of his criticism and the theories presents in the texts. Therefore, the primordial purpose of this research is the delineation of David Salles intellectual profile through these analysis, in away to show the importance of this contributions to the literary studies, and, especially, about the regionalist phenomenon and the Brazilian Literary Criticism.
