RESUMO

This research makes of the Social Epistemology to understand how the relations of power invest in the objects of the school knowledge. Considering the corporeity as an object of this knowledge, therefore liable relations of power, the survey aims to understand how the relations of power, in the school environment, influence in the formation of corporeity. This understanding is achieved through the analysis of studies of Michel Foucault, Thomas S. Popkewitz and Paulo Freire. The intention is to understand how corporeity formation is influenced by relations of power in school, within each perspective. The research is divided into five chapters: The first chapter describes the definition of corporeity and social epistemology, as well as establishes the problem question and the issue targets to be achieved during the research. The second chapter, The disciplined body in Michel Foucault, is based on the studies of Michel Foucault, in his book: "Discipline and punish: birth of the prison," which is dedicated to the studies of relations of power over the body. The third chapter, The standard body in Thomas Popkewitz, makes use of Thomas Popkewitzs studies about the relations of power and their influence on standardization of body in school. The fourth chapter, The oppressed body by Paulo Freire, is dedicated to reviewing the studies of Paulo Freire about the relations of power and oppression, as in most of his works. The fifth chapter picks up important ideas of the previous chapters, using them as bases to make the final considerations
