Contribuições da história e filosofia da ciência para o ensino da evolução biológica

RESUMO

The present study has as its most important goal to identify and discuss aspects in relationship to the comphrension of Biological Evolution. The presentation of subject has been distorted and the public, in general, has had influences on its understanding. Some authors made researches on the understanding of such subject with some students of High School, identifying wrong views about developed ideas. This form of understanding generates the distortion to treat such theory having as its main focus the origin of man. Two explanations were presented for such distortion. The first is connected to the view of Science separated of social context. The second, with the approach of this subject at schools, for the Biological Evolution considered by many researchers of this central theme and Biological Science unifier, may be taught in other contents. The first explanation is rejected became there are good arguments which show that science is not free of values. We re selected the second one, the conception that the Biological Evolution is the main organizer factor of Biology, as an alternative to escape from the distortion. History and Science Philosophy helped the purpose program. We used the concept of research tradition proposed by the science philosopher Larry Laudan to identify such conception. We ve made an analyze of didactic books of Biology for High School, to identify the evolutionist research tradition in certain contents of Biology. The chosen subjects were the concept of interespecific competition and resistance of AID virus on its treatment, for its close relationship with the Biological Evolution. We show a reference passage about every selected subject and we have analyzed if the relation with the evolution was in a clear form, implicit of not didactic texts. Most of the books do not show this relation, or on the contrary, generally, are on a implicit form. A discussion about the way the didactic books show the evolutionism would be interesting to the application of this proposal.
