RESUMO
The Brazilian culture and character are born under influence of two powerful mechanisms: religion and theater. The first encounter of the Portuguese navigators and the native Indians was already an spectacle. First of all, a mass celebrated in Latin in a scenery near the Paradise, straight after a we1come party offered by the Indians, with music and dance. After the arrival of the African people few years later, the blend gets new rhythms, new gods and the scene spreads all over this territory. Scene and character go together building a new imaginary mind, which bursts with creativity together with the Baroque. At a certain moment, probably in the middle of the XVIII century, theater goes out from this drama to a c1osed box, while folk, street dances and dramatic games go on their way developing in a constant metamorphosis. The project Concerto Barroco, a Construção de uma Dramaturgia da Cena, proposes to take part in the recovery - by means of a spectac1e - of the relationship between scene and character of the Brazilian people. In order to reach this goal, it comprises five introductory chapters, a libretto with the dramaturgic proposal divided into eight parts, and a conc1usive chapter. The introductory chapters are divided in the following way: Prólogo, dealing with the origin of the Project and the study of some historical moments while theater performed a function of normative behavior in society; Ensaio de Mesa, introduces the novelist Alejo Carpentier and his novel Concerto Barroco, from which was created the dramaturgic proposal; Interlúdio, where will be presented the method for composing the play planning; Didascália, chapter dedicated to historical collection of data related to concepts of dramaturge and dramaturgy, and Coxias e Bastidores, which introduces the history of the relationship between Brazilian scene and character. Next is presented the Libretto and the conc1usive chapter Camarins
