RESUMO

The crisis of taylorism and fordism, in the beginning of 1970s, made capitalism began to present clear signs of a structural crisis that affected the work world and demanded an immediate answer. This one came as a form of accumulation different from the previous one, "flexible" capitalism, translated in a process of capital reorganization named neoliberalism, which, from the 1980s, is affecting workers bodies and subjectivity and their representation ways and found in the educational sphere a fertile ground for the diffusion of new paradigms. The aim of this study is to reflect, from a linguisticdiscursive point of view these changes, by means of an analysis of discourses that circulate in a private university (IES). The corpus of reference of the research consists in four Catalogs of college entrance exam produced in two biennia: 20022003 and 20072008, and it is complemented by another corpus composed by twelve advertisements of other private IES published in printed media in 2008. The theoretical grounds of the inquiry are French Discourse Analysis and specifically in the discursiveenunciative dispositive proposed by Dominique Maingueneau in Gênese dos Discursos (2005), which is the bases of the analysis of a discursive practice in which there are an overlapping of verbal and nonverbal language articulated around the alterations in the profile of the IES directed to making it more political and ideologically linked to the business/mercantile logic that commands private higher education deprived in the country. Based on Global Semantics principle that discourse must be studied in the multiplicity of its dimensions, the initial hypothesis of the work was that there would be, in these corpora, two discursive formations in crash regarding the way of thinking higher education: the current one, aligned to the laws of the market and to the idea of education as a commodity, and the previous one, in which education was governed by notions such as citizenship, common good, social rights, etc. The analysis allowed to capture, in the trajectory of the analyzed IES, the underlying semantic network, and we identified, in the Catalogs, seems that are present in the two ways considered, which suggests that we are not dealing with discursive formations in opposition, but with only one, taken in two moments. Through the exploration of scenographies and ethé of the selected advertising materials it was possible to observe a discursive functioning that points to a continuous movement of alignment of these institutions analyzed to the new times
