RESUMO
This paper tries to analize the representations and pratices ofblack beauty treatment as a way of social ascention. We used as sources, basically, three joumals that were the voices of the black movement from the city of São Paulo. Therefore, we ve tried to make evident the spaces inside the black movements which points the body facts. From the view of beauty we bring the forms of how lots social personalities related to it. In the process of transfomation and rearrangement of habits in São Paulo we focused the permanently ways to characterize the black body, the way of how different black writers dealed with this modifications, as well as the beginning of development of products and "apropriate" places to the "beauty treatment" of black body
