Avaliação da complexidade dos cuidados de enfermagem em uma unidade de terapia intensiva para mulheres submetidas a cirurgia oncologica - ginecologica e mamaria

RESUMO

Introduction: The oncologic surgeries may be associated to the occurrence of complications, many of then are unexpected. The postoperated of patients with cancer is a great challenge, reason why these patients should be admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) during this period. Graduation systems of patients state allow, today, to analyze the object and critic form to health care. Objective: to assess, through the Therapeutic Intervention Scoring System (TISS) 28, the complexity of nursing care given to women subjected to oncologic gynecologic or mammary surgical procedures during the post-operatory period. Subjects and methods: This was a longitudinal observational study, in which 83 hospitalized women, receiving intensive post-operatory care in the Intensive Care Unit (ITU) of Centro de Atenção Integral à Saúde da Mulher (CAISM, Brazil) were enrolled. Results: Women diagnosed with gynecologic cancer and submitted to gynecologic surgery had a significantly higher mean TISS 28 score as compared to women with breast cancer; basic activities were the most performed by the studied women and only advanced age and hypertension were related to death in the post-surgery period. Conclusion: The complexity of the post-surgery period is moderate, from the nursing standpoint. Women aged 80 years or more were at the highest risk of the death during the post-surgery period
