RESUMO
This dissertation approaches the tensions experienced in the hip-hop universe from its members in relation with the idea of an "essence" that defines this cultural group. Thus, we bring a brif questioning about the identity concept as background to this discussion, believing in your agreement with this "essencialized identity" of hip-hop. Therefore, this context will be discussed with the hypothesis that this agreement occurs in a different way, in the discourse and practices of this movement. In order to analyze these problems, we prioritize politics and media as thematic fields.
