RESUMO

Departing from a four-month work developed with a group of polyvalent teachers (teachers that teach in their classes all the subject-matters: language, mathematics, science and social studies) of primary school of a municipal school in the outskirts (poor districts) of the city of Campinas-SP, I tried to comprehend the ways of appropriation and elaboration of practical activities, in the teaching of science by the teachers. The purpose of this research was to apprehend the processes of elaboration of practical activities in the teaching of science by the teachers, departing from the interferences made on their work by a researcher, mediated by the use of these activities which were present in a teaching unit about the theme light, presented by the researcher, taking as the focus of analysis the discursive movements produced in the group, during the work that carried out. The concepts of mediation, internalization and drama, according to the culturalhistorical developed by Lev S. Vygotsky and his followers, as well as the concepts of polyphony, polysemy, and genders of discourse, developed by Mikhail Bakhtin, were used in the analysis of the verbal interaction between researcher and the teachers, during the development of the practical activities. Methodologically, the principles of the evidential paradigm, discused by Carlo Ginzburg, have guided me in the search of clues of the processes of elaboration of senses in the discursive movement. For the recording of the interactions, they were taped on video. From the analysis of the discursive movements, emerges the contradictory character of the way how practical activities present themselves in the ideary of the teachers, valued, but almost inexistent, pointing out the need of reestructuration of the ways of use of these activities in the classroom and in the teacher training.
