ATENDIMENTO EM SAÚDE: UM ESTUDO EXPLORATÓRIO EM UNIDADES HOSPITALARES PÚBLICAS E PRIVADAS DE GOIÂNIA

RESUMO

This work is an exploratory and a quantitative research on the health attendance in 8 (eight) hospitals in Goiânia, selected for being useful mixed services 4 (four) public hospitals and 4 (four) private hospitals. The research involved 178 users and 178 professionals selected from an intentional and an estratified example, non probabilistical. The aims were to identify the mechanisms of admission, the social and economical profile of the professionals and useres, the main conceptions of the hospital organization, the attendance programmes and to enlist the critical factors of success and the characteristics and the quality of the attendance having as a reference the valid institutional norms. It is was lain the context of the development of the health services in Brazil and its importance for the reproduction of work-force and of the capital with the modernization since 1930. New attendance features in health from 1980/90, the theoretical basis of the process of the organizational development in the economical globalization context and the neo-liberal medicine were traced. It was took into consideration the comprehension that health / illness is a social question and therefore the health services must be ample, of quality and efficient for what it is needed and to obey the organizational development. It was identified that the user of the public hospital has a more numerous family, a low purchasing power and a low formal instruction besides being less informed of the services and his / her own health. In private hospitals prevail users who have a private health assistance, a greater purchasing power and formal instruction. The professionals in public and private hospitals work in more than one hospital and are not fully satisfied with their jobs. In relation to the attendance in public hospitals, the major problem is the latent demand and the necessitiy of hospital humanization, for the qualification process and the structural conditions for the attendance do not keep pace with the intense demand. In privat hospitals the major problem is the humanization of the medical staff, specially of the doctors and in minor scale of nurses which is considered aloof and distant. Theese informations were important to evaluate the factors that interfere in the services quality being useful to the population and to point out possible intervention in the development of the services and in the adoption that contribute to offer efficient and qualitative health attendance to the population of Goiânia.
