RESUMO

The dissertation titled The Obscured Clouds of the Neoliberalism and its Impacts in Witness Protection Program came to be between the years of 2006 and 2008, during the Post-graduate course / Masters Degree in Social Service, at Universidade Federal de Pernambuco â UFPE (Federal University of Pernambuco). The objective of the study verses about PROVITA execution by GAJOP and the question that gave this study its north was: How the Neoliberal agenda elements are expressed in PROVITAâs execution? So, to know the ways the Neoliberal agenda elements are expressed in PROVITAS execution became the main goal of this research. The text analyses the speeches found in institutional documents of public and private domains, and the interviews done with PROVITA professionals and users, within GAJOP. The results show that the Neoliberal agenda elements are present in: PROVITAâs execution especially in the conception of its voluntary protection network, understood as the main element responsible for the social (re-)insertion of the users; in the Stateâs role as financer and the civil society in general as executor. These facts favor several serious problems for the protected users and the professionals who work in the program. This study points out to the need of change in todayâs execution logic. Suggestions for changing this logic were made by the groups researched, all trying to overcome these difficulties
