RESUMO
This work had the objective of study the speed control of the process of ball-milling through the use of a controlled frequency inverter (drive) connected to the Compact Fieldpoint hardware and the LabVIEW software, with the interest in carrying through the control of the milling process to reach an optimized condition of operation. For this, a control system based on LabVIEW software technology of the National Instruments was studied, with the developed control system was evaluated the performance of the application once created in the G environment, programming language of the LabVIEW, for control the speed of the milling process. The use of frequency inverter hardwired and controlled by Compact Fieldpoint made possible generate different combinations of speeds with different conditions of fulfilling of the mill, and evaluate the milling for each of these operational conditions and determining landslide occurrence, cascade effect, and centrifugal acceleration (or force) effect points. Ally to the interface capacity of the LabVIEW software, makes possible the virtual visualization of the process in a graphical form with panels and controls similar to the physical system, the migration to control system based on computers becomes a good alternative for processes improvements, in special the milling process in ball-milling
