RESUMO

Industrial Storage Racks are used in warehouses, because they improve the space occupation, and let easy access to the products. They are built with cold formed profiles, and presents the instability phenomena like local and distortional modes, common in thin-walled members. The uprights of these structures shows holes to make easy the assemblage. There are various types of racks, that fit to the product to be stored. Among them, we find the drive-in system. This system has high storage density, due to the absence of beams in down-aisle direction, and the rigidly in this direction is due to the base fixity and the beam-column connection rigidly. There arent standard prescriptions to analysis and design of drive-in systems. This work shows a theoretical-experimental evaluation of this kind of structure, where the global behavior and the interaction among the components are evaluated. The experimental data are compared with numerical results, and parameters like the influence of base fixity and beam to column connection rigidly are considered in the analysis.
