RESUMO

The evaluation of the reliability in systems becomes complex when the number of components is high, or for the case of systems of complex configuration. This work had the objective of elaborate the ca1culation procedure to estimate the reliability in these cases, through computational software developed in Visual Basic. That allows to reduce these systems to an equivalent component with a reliability value corresponding to the reliability of the complete structure. The simple structures are reduced using direct methods that were implemented according to the type of standardized connection (series, parallel, etc:). In the analysis of the structures with complex configuration, the modified inspection method and the connection matrix method are used. The methodology presented in this work constitutes a tool that can be used to evaluate the reliability in production lines or systems modeled as structures. The value of the reliability in the analyzed structures can be obtained for a certain instant of time, and for several times, giving the reliability and mortality curves of the structures graphically
