RESUMO

Amongst the productive chain sectors, the industry of civil construction presents itself as one of the greatest aggressors to the environment. Amongst the most aggressive impacts there are the voluminous mineral consumption - sand and crushed stone - and the generation of residues during the execution of the constructions and in its demolition at the end of its useful life, the so called CDW - Construction and Demolition Waste. This work presents a comparative study between the hindrance components Ceramic Block, Common Brick, Concrete Block and the Modular Block of Ground-cement - Ecological Brick and the impact degree caused by them to the environment. The survey of the data was acquired from models fabricated in laboratory where the consumption and the losses of material amongst the study components could be quantified. From the laboratory acquired results it is possible to assume that the model constructed with the Ecological Brick generated 50 % less residues when compared with the other models in study. Thus, the reduction of the volume of residues deposited not only at the construction debris areas but also at inadequate or improper places minimize impacts to the environment.
