RESUMO

The halitosis is a symptom embarrassing with significant social impact for the elderly. It affects millions of people around the world and many resources are invested in products for the improvement of breath without resolution, just easing the problem. The halitosis may represent a real obstacle biopsychosocial influencing directly in family life, work, social environment and/or the sex life of the elderly. The scientific literature has given more frequently a biomedical focus to halitosis and shortage of psychosocial impacts on living of halitosis among seniors.
