RESUMO

This work had for main purpose to give continuity to the research, that during the master - The use of the karstic area for the prehistoric groups of the Serra da Capivara - was carried through by the researcher. Of this master research of had been selected some karstics sites with archaeological and paleontological vestiges for future studies. In this research we worked in two of those selected sites - the Toca do Serrote da Bastiana and Toca do Barrigudo -, that they had supplied a great wealth of archaeological remains, in this case, six human skeletons, beyond the other remains more common as litic material and fragments of ceramics. These data had been analyzed inside of the complex space-functional of the BoqueirÃo da Pedra Furada (defined in chapter 3), that it establishes a crono-cultural sequence for the region, from data and gotten datings of the excavations of the Toca do SÃtio do BoqueirÃo da Pedra Furada (BPF), that they vary of 57.000 years BP up to 6.500 years BP. Then, in this study was tried to prove the contemporanity of occupation among the sites of the National Park Serra da Capivara and the karstics sites, as well as, to establish if the functions of the sites had been same or not and, to consider a model of occupation for the paleo basin of the AntoniÃo, from the data gotten in the excavations of the karstics sites cited above. The gotten results had been: although not to have been possible to date the skeletons found in the Toca do Serrote da Bastiana and Toca do Barrigudo, ensured the contemporanity of this occupation with the Serra da Capivara due to the remains found like a lithic material, ceramics and rock paintings; as regards functions of the archaeologicals sites, it can be said that the karstics sites studied had differents functions, probably, had been occupaded as cemetery, since not any bonfire was found in them, what it would evidence another type of occupation and, the lithics and ceramics had been transported for inside of the rockshelters together with the water and sediment that re-covered the skeletons, of this form, was possible to establish a new model of occupation for the portion southeastern of the National Park Serra da Capivara and around, in which, this occupation if it gave in the vast pediplan with the karstics areas and cuesta being used for eventual incursions in search of hunting, food vegetable and water
