RESUMO

Post-modern and pop, the artists who musically make possible a set of signs and meanings that in the contemporary break up on other languages and are inserted in the cultural dynamics with its atomized narratives that mention an infinite amount of existing dialogues everywhere in the globe. Small groups and cultures; discrete movements and manifests: grunges, clubbers, rockers, indies, etc. There are a lot of classifications. But the research starts in this point. In the diversity of the metropolises I start my study: The Pop Culture. In the plurarity of styles, aesthetic and social of the several micropolitics for which are built communication systems and art I identify and delimit my object: manguebeat through its maximum icon, Chico Science and NaÃÃo Zumbi. In the ambiguities of the city, I locate the speech that will be part of my article: Recife contemporary. The text has as objective to cover the produced artistic space in the city during the decade of 90. The analysis takes as starting point two recorded records of The Chico Science &NaÃÃo Zumbi band, between the period of 1993 and 1996. The main representant of the manguebeat scene, the group get fuse information, communication and social critique and the research concentrates its quarrel in this relation
