RESUMO

This dissertation discusses how the kinesic and Supra-Segmental Markers work and the sense effect that they produce on listeners during storytelling. The research consists of four stages. Firstly, the characteristics of Spoken Language are presented. Afterwards there is a discussion about themes related to Kinesic (gesture) and Supra-Segmental (prosody) Markers and their importance for children?s oral literary narratives. The third stage is a study about Children?s Literature itself. Finally, the Methodological Procedures and, consequently, the results obtained are presented. Thus it was proven that the Kinesic and Supra-Segmental Markers used in children?s oral literary narratives have significant influence on the reception and interaction between the storyteller, the plot and the audience.
