RESUMO

In Health, before the existence of the SUS (Brazilian national health system) Technical Heath Schools (ETSUS), preparing workers consisted only of training, which was done directly in the services, without any concern to teach more theoretical and practical elements. The need for integral training of students, for the ETSUS, extending the approach beyond biological and medical subjects, is in line with the guidelines of the National Policy on Humanization (HumanizaSUS). To understand the importance of this policy for the development/strengthening of the Health System itself, this work proposes that the theme of humanization be included in a transversal way, in the curriculum of the Technical Nursing Course of the ETSUS/TO, with the following objectives: to identify, in the course curriculum, teaching plans/action plan of the Technical Nursing Course, and the political-pedagogical project of school, themes relating to humanization; to investigate, with the teachers, teaching strategies used to address the theme of humanization; and to produce a summary that contains purposeful teaching strategies for inclusion of the theme. To achieve the objectives, a descriptive exploratory study was carried out, with a qualitative analysis. The program of this study, carried out in the Palmas ETSUS, was first characterized by a document analysis of the course plan, teaching plans/action plans of the Technical Nursing Course, and political-pedagogical project of the school, and later, through interviews with the teachers and administrative and teaching coordinators. In both phases, themes relating to humanization were sought, and also the teaching strategies adopted for discussion of those themes, which were presented in the form of subcategories. For the themes relating to humanization, the subcategories were: Reception in the production practices of health; empathy: valorisation and respect for the other during the care; integral healthcare; National Humanization Policy; Ethics and Bioethics; and interpersonal relations in the work environment. For the teaching strategies used to address the theme of humanization and its thematic importance, the subcategories were: Case study; guided texts; seminars; discussions on humanization; workshops and group dynamics. The study was concluded by elaborating a proposal synthesis with the teaching strategies, group dynamics, dramatization and pedagogy of the projects, with the objective of including the theme of Humanization in the curriculum in a transversal way, and contributing to improving the quality of the healthcare and the integral attention, and mastery of the wider concept of health
