RESUMO

This thesis intends, according to its title, to propose a revision of references for the debate about the identity of the discipline Philosophy of Education. The actual panorama of this disciplines contents dispersion such as its profissional profiles dispersion justify the objective of this thesis. In this way, I tried to discuss some fundamental characteristics of the Philosophy, the concept of Education and the territory of Pedagogy. This thesis meaningful question is concerned with a discipline, not with an area of knowledge. So, a curriculum discussion became important and pertinent. Analysis about curriculum and power, national curriculum, process analysies or contents etc., appear beside some contributions of post-modern and post-structuralist positions. Some brazilian authors ideas about Philosophy of Educations identity are also described. This description intends to show the originality of my work and of my ideas. Finally, in the last chapter I suggest some references (contents and criterions) for the debate of this disciplines identity. I hope, this way, to participate and contribute for the dipersions overcoming.
