RESUMO

In this Dissertation it was developed an analysis about the potential of geotechnologies on minimizing the conflict in the fishery management program that occurs in the Sustainable Development Reserve Mamirauá. The Mamirauá Reserve was innovative model of protected areas in awake of the Brazilian Environmental Policy. This new model emerging in the midst of a theoretical review on the social function of protected areas. To manage this kind of areas, the scientific knowledge is seen as a crucial component to the decision-making. Modern science is challenged to think about the nature in an integrated manner, combining different forms of knowledge. In that context Geotechnologies are multidisciplinary instruments suitable for display integrated data. They are set by international regulations to support environmental management and sustainable development. In the particular case of Mamirauá Reserve, there are difficulties to integrate data from different sets of expertise, to accept new methods of analysis and also the knowledge developed by traditional communities. Notwithstanding, the season dynamic characteristics of the water in the Amazon demands often a periodic renegotiation of the manage areas in way of reset the limits demarcated on maps on the maps. Considering the political legitimacy that the cartography language acquires in mediation the local communities and researchers interests on the Plan of Management, the lack of a suitable systematization of area data references can generate more conflict
